Household Magnets for Brain Chatter
Mental health problems can be debilitating. In my case, I was suffering from constant brain chatter from the Id or the subconscious, and always felt like I was in the close company of a noisy and unruly kid who would not cease to send out nasty messages. This continued until I finally came up with a new way to deal with it, and that was the use of magnets.
1. Brain Chatter
The Id’s vocalized messages drained me of energy and exhausted me early, so that I had to retire early in the evening. The Id’s messages were dark and sinister, full of suspicion, pessimism and contempt for the people around me, who were supposed to be maliciously obsessed with putting me down and treating me as an outcast all the time, through schemes contrived out of cold, Machiavellian calculation, notably under the guise of medical treatment.
2. Sensitivity to Electromagnetism
In the early days when brain chatter began, I started to sense that invisible waves were radiating towards me from TV, radio and personal computers and I came to the conclusion that they were electromagnetic waves. When I told my doctor about it, he replied that the world is full of electronic gadgets that radiate these waves anyway.
Nowadays I believe this extra sensitivity was not without foundation, as I later found out that I was much more sensitive to electromagnetism compared to people who do not experience brain chatter.
3. Bathroom Antics
Besides the verbal messages, the Id apparently knew a lot of ways to manipulate internal bodily functions. For example, the Id seemed to create, in clandestine ways, a sudden impulse to visit the men’s room through stimulus created in the intestines or the bladder, to force me to make an untimely detour in embarrassing moments.
This would happen especially if I had a schedule ahead and the Id considered that the intended destination was against its interests, e.g. a music lesson, because of its soothing, therapeutic effects that would countervail the Id’s malicious activities, not least because of its gregarious qualities, involving human exchange and conversation. Such tricks were used to control my daily activities, not only to prevent punctuality, but also to discourage trips over long distances.
4. Undue Sexiness
The Id would also take full advantage of its influence and powers over the reproductive functions to induce excessive sexiness, so that relations with the opposite sex would be filled with unnatural tension and stressfulness, and it became more difficult to work in a “coed” environment because of the distraction coming from women. So one of the main themes of the Id’s messages was, how sexy women were actually feeling, without their admitting to it. This may have been perfect for a teenager.
The Id’s influence in this domain would affect relations with the menfolk too, as sexy behavior and self-consciousness in a married man, middle- aged or above, was sure to invite suspicions, a sense of rivalry, jealousy and contempt. Consequently, I was convinced that Casanova was also victim of such mental illness.
5. Antipsychotic Drugs
The doctors that I visited would prescribe drugs every time, and the medication would be helpful, but after 3 or 4 days, the side-effects would simply become too much for me, as if I had been taking antibiotic pills for just too long. While brain chatter was more or less controlled, and the psyche more or less protected from the Id, it came at the expense of sensitivity as a normal human being.
I also found that keeping the Id from engaging in brain chatter with pills would cause frustration on the part of the Id, and force it to seek other, diverse methods to seek release, and this had to be the true cause of the more unusual side-effects, such as releasing gas into the air without warning, from the mouth and other orifices.
6. Brain MRI
There was a breakthrough when I took a brain examination that included brain MRI and, while this was to ascertain whether there were any damages or imperfections in the brain that could be at the root of my problems, as a peripheral benefit, the process proved most effective in terms of quietening down the Id and its brain chatter antics.
In fact, brain MRI seemed to smooth out communication between the 2 brain hemispheres, help the Ego re-establish control over them, and drive out the Id from the particular areas in the brain, i.e. the language areas, from where it had apparently staged its brain chatter.
7. Electromagnetic Induction
The reasons why brain MRI was so effective was to intrigue me for years, until I happened to view a YouTube lecture program on the laws of electromagnetism as historically discovered by people like Clerk Maxwell, and covering the concept of electromagnetic induction.
Recalling high school physics, it suddenly dawned on me that the way brain MRI worked may be, after all, through electromagnetic induction, as the brain was exposed to strong magnetic forces inside the MRI machine. This may have caused electric currents to flow through the brain and clean up whatever was blocking the passageway between the 2 hemispheres.
8. Experiment
Upon recognizing this possibility, that electromagnetic induction may indeed be the magic behind the strong remedial effect of brain MRI, I decided to try out an experiment using a simple round, refrigerator magnet around the skull, and was astounded by the results. It was very effective indeed, in a similar way as to make me recall the big, noisy MRI machine.
I gave myself about a week to ascertain I had come up with good results, including any possible side-effects, as follows:
(1) Reduced brain chatter, so that I am able to hear myself thinking verbally once again.
(2) Easier vocalization, with a louder, deeper voice, and clearer articulation.
(3) More stamina, by being liberated from that noisy infant, the Id, constantly annoying me with sinister and nefarious messages. Thus, I am active for longer hours into the evening and go to sleep at later hours in the night.
(4) More perceptiveness on and consideration for people around me, because I am no longer transfixed by brain chatter messages nor absent-minded, nor absorbed with short- time measures to control the Id.
(5) Easier conversation and rapport with members of the opposite sex, because of reduced tension.
(6) Smoother and easier movement of limbs i.e. hands, arms, legs and feet, leading to faster speed when walking, with a more casual gait and nimble body movements.
(7) A renewed sense of loneliness while on my own, because I no longer feel the presence of the Id with its constant brain chatter.
(8) A reduced number of visits to the restroom.
9. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
I was so much impressed with the results that I decided to check out on whether or not this method was already recognized as standard treatment by the medical authorities.
Chiefly from the internet, I gathered that there was an established method known as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and the US FDA had recognized it as effective for treating such conditions as depression. It was recognized as such in Japan as well.
This would involve an elaborate machine akin to a dentist’s chair for the patient to sit on, and a metallic arm would be extended close to particular areas of the brain, to apply magnetic force in pulses, to activate unnaturally quiet areas in the brain.
So I thought the idea of applying magnetism may be similar, but the methodology quite different, and TMS was apparently used mainly for treating depression, not brain chatter.
I also found out that they gave out warnings that TMS was not to be practiced on people who suffered from epilepsy, as there was the possibility of inducing seizures, so that would have to be taken into account.
10. Refrigerator Magnet
With this experience and information, I feel more ready to recommend my new method, using a round, refrigerator magnet, to people who suffer from brain chatter and need an extra remedy to reinforce antipsychotic drugs, as follows:
(1) If you suffer from epilepsy, do not try it.
(2) Benign as a simple magnet may appear, the treatment may have far-reaching results, and one should exercise caution and moderation, especially in the experimental stage.
(a) There may be little in the way of dizziness or sense of disorientation while actually using the magnet, but immediately afterwards, one may start to feel a strange and forceful sensation inside the head. The instability should disappear in a matter of minutes, but the consequences (beneficial, I hope) tend to last about 2 to 3 days, depending on how strong the magnet is, on how quickly the combing gesture is made, and on how many times the movement is repeated, all in accordance with Faraday’s laws.
(b) After the treatment, there may be a sudden rise in tension, so that the practitioner is caught in a focused and serious mood, and feel an urge to seek emotional release, into a more easygoing disposition. In other words, it is like taking a pill whose effects last 2 to 3 days.
(3) Hold the magnet in your hand, close to either side of the head.
(4) Move the magnet in a skimming motion close to the scalp, similar to the way a comb is used to smooth out hair. Take care to do this slowly, because this should moderate the effect. Repeat the same motion for 2 or 3 times, and this should cause electric currents to flow inside the brain, in accordance with the laws of electromagnetic induction. For a single session, do this on either side of the head, but maybe not on both sides, because the effect will be rather strong.
Right Side : Hold the magnet with the right hand, apply it somewhere near the periphery of the right ear, and move it clockwise around the ear, in circular motion.
Left Side : Hold the magnet close to the periphery of the left ear, and move it clockwise around the ear, in circular motion.
At the outset, this exercise seems to transfer the Ego emphatically into either the left or right hemisphere, respectively, depending on the N-S polarity of the magnet being used. However, with repeated application, the Ego seems to lose its polarity, so that use of the magnet in this fashion no longer has any effect on the location of the Ego.
(5) The effects should last more than a day, and so this treatment should be repeated as appropriate. If the last session targeted the right side of the head, next time, it should be applied onto the opposite, left side and vice versa, in alternating fashion.
The treatment seems to help overcome the “negative symptoms” in medical terms, so that one may find more concentration, motivation to work and to socialize, as it allows much more freedom from the malevolent messages from brain chatter without using antipsychotic drugs.
11. Horseshoe Magnet
A horseshoe magnet can be used for the same purpose and may work even better than a bar magnet in terms of making brain chatter subside.
(1) Hold the magnet over the forehead, above an imaginary midline running across the skull, from just above the nasal ridge and toward the back of the neck, so that the prongs or poles of the magnet are straddled and allocated on either side of this line, that largely coincides with the demarcation line between the left and right hemispheres of the brain.
(2) Move the magnet from the forehead toward the back of the neck along this line in a smooth, skimming motion, as if to mow through the hair. A single combing motion may suffice for 1 session.
